Firefly Café & Creperie is partnering with our next door neighbor, Pavlovich Dental, and “adopting” a West Seattle family in need this Christmas. Several nominations were received from the community, but there was one family that really stood out: “Ireion” fell on hard times when she became a single mother with five children recently. Ireion works part time and does her best to financially support her children while trying to be present for them as much as possible.
If you would like to donate cash or gift cards, or purchase a gift for this family, please deliver to Firefly Café & Creperie no later than Friday 12/20. The Firefly & Pavlovich staff will shop for the family and provide a Christmas Eve feast!
We spoke with Ireion and asked her what her and her family had on their “wish” list this Christmas:
Trey’veantey, boy, age 8: beanies, hot wheels racing cars, other age appropriate toys, winter coat, jeans, shirts, socks and undershorts. All size 14, except the undershorts – large.
Day’jhan, boy, age 6: hot wheels racing cars, other age appropriate toys, winter coat, jeans, shirts, socks and boys underwear. All size 12, except the boy’s underwear – 12/14.
***Both boys really, really, really hope Santa brings them a XBOX One + games (Madden…)
A’marionna, girl, age 3 (4 in Feb): dolls, bike, other age appropriate toys, winter coat, clothing for girls (size 5/7), socks, and underwear for girls (size 7).
Ma’lasja, girl, age 2: dolls, bike, other age appropriate toys, winter coat, clothing for girls (size 4), socks.
Michael, boy, age 15 mos: baby bike, hot wheel racing cars, trains, blocks, other age appropriate toys, winter coat (all size 3T).
***Ma’lasja & Michael both wear Size 6 diapers
Mom/Ireion: women’s clothing (size 18 jeans, 2XL shirts), women’s underwear (size 7), socks, t-shirts, really needs a microwave! She is also in need of assistance for a deposit to move at the end of the month. (We will review the finances at the end of the collection period and if there is extra cash, Firefly will cut a check to the landlord for the new location).
Thank you for helping your neighbor in need!
