Artist Bio
My love for art began well before I set foot in kindergarten. Inspired by my mother and curious about the watercolor classes she held in our basement, I begged to get my hands on paint. To my delight she began teaching me!
Throughout school I continued to take art classes in many different forms. My love for acrylic painting developed during an art class at Edmonds Community College. As coordinator for the Edmonds Art Walk, I gained an appreciation for a wide variety of art. I have been greatly inspired through classes with Dianna Shyne and Gary Faigin. My work has shown in juried shows and in a variety of venues, including Semantics Gallery in Edmonds, WA, and Freed Gallery in Lincoln City, OR.
In January 2011 I became a student in Gary Faigin’s Atelier at Gage Academy of Fine Art. With his encouragement, I started painting strictly from real life and tried my hand at oil for the first time. This switch in focus and media has provided an opportunity to improve both my technical and observational skills, producing stronger work. I had the honor of being the first graduate from his atelier in June, 2012. The newest chapter in my artistic career started in 2013, opening Art Escapes Gallery. AEG focuses on cultivating the art careers of emerging local artists, representing artists in our online gallery, and specializing in fine art reproduction.
